At 18 months I was diagnosed with spastic cerebral palsy. At the time, doctors weren’t sure if this was purely physical, or if there was a mental component as well. They weren’t sure if I would ever ride a bicycle or drive a car.
I went on to excel through grade school and graduate high school as class valedictorian. I was once again valedictorian of my graduating university class. After completing my undergraduate I went on to receive an MSc and PhD in atmospheric science. This summer, I cycled over 2700 kilometres.
I enjoy being an educator and inspiring others with my story!
